OUR MISSION IS TO PREVENT CHILDHOOD INJURIES.
Safe Kids Maine is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide®, a nonprofit organization working to help families and communities keep kids safe from injuries. Most people are surprised to learn preventable injuries are the #1 killer of kids in the United States. Throughout the world, almost one million children die of an injury each year, and almost every one of these tragedies is preventable.
Safe Kids works with an extensive network of more than 400 coalitions in the United States and with partners in more than 30 countries to reduce traffic injuries, drownings, falls, burns, poisonings and more.
Losing one child is one too many, and we don't want any parent to have to endure the loss of a child. We're calling on everyone to come together, to raise awareness and to get involved. Saving lives is a decision we can all make every day.
Safe Kids Maine offers a wide range of programs, including community outreach with car seat safety check-up events, bicycle helmet fitting and distribution, fire prevention, water safety, home safety, playground safety, and many more topics. Please visit our website or contact us for more information.
Safe Kids Maine has Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians who are skilled and knowledgeable about the proper installation and use of children's car seats. Over 90% of children in our communities are not as safe as they could be in their car seats. We can help! You can schedule your appointment here, email us at info@safekidsmaine.org, or call or text us at (207) 830-1123.
